The screen on the HP Pre 3 is a nice piece of work. It sports 480 by 800 pixels of clarity. It stuffs all that clarity into 3.58 inches of display. That is the same amount of pixels as the Samsung Galaxy S smartphones, many of which have screens four inches in size. The typical smartphone screen features are found in the Pre 3; an accelerometer, a proximity sensor and multi touch input. No stylus is needed. Under the screen is a QWERTY keyboard. It looks pretty small for those with fatter than average fingers. Nevertheless, it has a quality feel to it and snaps open and closed with no problems.
The Wi-Fi for the HP Pre 3 is a dual band and handles all the modes up to the “N” mode. There is 3G in three versions, up to 3.1 megabits per second. The GPRS and EDGE networks are there as well as bluetooth, but in version 2.1. Some smartphone makers have not upgraded to bluetooth 3.0 yet, HP is one of them. Nokia is not. Wired connections for the Pre 3 consist of a MicroUSB port and a 3.5 millimeter head phone connector.
The camera on the HP Pre 3 is a five megapixel picture shooter. It has modest features, with geo tagging, auto focus, and LED flash. It is not known if the geo tagging can be turned off in the menus of the smartphone. The rear camera has good enough quality to record high definition videos. The highest definition is at 720p format. There is a secondary camera on the front for video calling.
