The Web is the fastest growing thing in the world today. With more and more people creating email accounts, joining social networks and doing loads of activities online, it is expected to grow even bigger. Creating a strong password is the key to be safer on the web and have risk free transactions across the globe.
For creating strong passwords that cannot be easily hacked, you need to take care of mainly two things – Length and Complexity. An ideal password should contain at least 10 letters comprising of alphabets (both small and big), numbers, and special characters.

It is recommended to change your passwords regularly for accounts like Gmail, Facebook, Twitter etc. Also, for more sensitive accounts like Paypal, Alertpay, or some cPanel accounts, it is recommend to change passwords more often because these are related to your work, say every week or every 2 weeks. If you are a blogger using WordPress or Blogger, then you can use this technique to better protct your online hosting and FTP accounts.
Here are some suggestions to create a more secure password:
  • It must not contain your NAME, your friend’s name, or family members’ name
  • It must never be related to your Login ID
  • Your password should not be a word that appears in the dictionary
  • It should not be a common word that is available very easily
  • It should be a combination of lowercase and uppercase letters, numbers and symbols such as *, . , / : : ‘ { } @ # $ % ^ & etc
By following these simple guidelines, you can rest assured that your virtual existence is well protected and all of your private information is safe and secure.
