Lexar is to release a number of USB backup drives that will ease the backup process of your data. The Lexar’s backup USB drives come in the forms of theLexar Echo MX and ZX, which are compatible with both Mac and PC platforms.
The Lexar Echo MX drive offers a 128-bit AES encryption with built-in Lexar Echo backup software. It’s available in a number of storage capacities including 8GB, 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GBThe best of the Lexar Echo MX drive is it has a capacity meter that shows you available backup space. The Echo MX drives offer speeds of 28MB/s read and 10MB/s write for the lower-capacity models and speeds up to 30MB/s read and 17MB/s write for the 128GB capacity.
The Echo ZX drive comes in a tiny, plug-and-stay USB form factor, but provides the same backup power of the larger drives. It also offers a 128-bit AES encryption and is available in storage capacities of 8GB, 16GB and 32GB. The 8GB version boasts read and write speeds up to 28MB/s and 10MB/s respectively, while the 16GB and 32GB offer up to the same read speed as the 8GB but higher write speed of 15MB/s.
The Lexar Echo MX will be available in Q1, while the ZX will be out sometime in Spring. The MX will be priced in the range of $45 to $500, whole the ZX is priced in the range of $45 to $150.
