God of War:
The protagonist of the game - Kratos, a former Spartan general who won power in the battle with the barbarians. Kratos army was close to defeat, when he asked for the war god Ares to help defeat his enemies. Ares helped him by giving weapons (swords of Chaos) and destroying the barbarians, but for that Kratos had to serve him and fulfill any orders. Once Ares is ordered to destroy a village. Kratos burst into the house and killed two first got people. These were his wife and daughter. Ares will attack Athens. Since the gods made a vow not to fight each other, they can not protect the city. The gods have decided to use hate to Kratos Ares and ordered him to kill the raging god, but as a man can not cause harm to the god, Kratos must find Pandora's box, which entered into such great power that can turn a man into a god. The whole way the gods will help Kratos and bestow valuable skills. At the end of the game, Kratos will take the place of the god of war.

God of War II: 
Overthrowing the war god Ares and took his throne, Kratos has served its purpose, but for such a daring deed had to pay a high price. Brave son of Sparta has inherited from the merciless god of not only the strength and power, but absorb all the cruelty and the wrath of the infinitedark lord. Now Kratos unleashes himself on the land of ancient Greece unprecedented calamity and a curse, plunging the once beautiful world into chaos, against which the pale machinations of the Ares.
