In the last match, there was a strange turn of events. While their health was down to the last point, Mario thought it best to finish off with his signature move. Unfortunately it was miscued, enough time for Duke to make Mario a burnt pixel on the TV screen. So Duke wins and goes up!
Today, will be the first of the two semi-finals of the tournament! Gordon Freeman battles it out with Sub-Zero! Is it possible for these characters go head-to-head? It sure is, while Sub-Zero might not have uber cool weapons to wield, he’s got powers good enough to put Kelvinator to shame! Similarly, Freeman doesn’t believe in hand-to-hand combat, but fact is, he’s used the crowbar for quite some time now and there’s no way he misses with it.

Gordon Freeman (Half Life Series)
- Age: 40 (considering he was 28 in Half-Life)
- Place of Birth: Seattle, USA
- Height: 6 Feet
- Physical Traits: Neatly combed hair, well trimmed French beard and horn rimmed glasses, Freeman is the type of guy you’d see teaching in some Ivy league college. That is until he whips out his crowbar and his Hazmat suit and annihilates an entire race of hostile aliens.

- Badass Factor – Besides being a total genius this man has saved Earth time and time again from an alien invasion. I mean how many video game protagonists have a Ph.D from MIT?
- Social Life: Considering the fact that he spent most ofhis life studying we’ll go with none whatsoever. However after the events ofHalf-Life 2 he’s become pretty comfortable with fellow scientist Eli Vance’s daughter, Alyx.
- Trademark: Don’t let the glasses fool you; this braniac has kicked some serious alien ass while defending Earth’s freedom from alien scum. He’s the silent brooding type who will get the job done at the end of the day.
Sub-Zero (Mortal Kombat)
- Age: 32
- Place of Birth: China, Earthrealm
- Also Known as: Chinese Ninja Warrior
- Height: 6 feet 2 inches
- Physical Traits: Originally dressed as a blue Lin Kuei Assassin, Sub-Zero decided to fight without a mask in his later iterations. In recent games however he has re-dawned the Lin Kuei assassin robes.
- Weapon of Choice: Ice projectile from his mastery over the elements.
- Badass Quotient: Rips off his opponent's heads along with their spines.
- Social Life: Known to have a brother who shares the same qualities as him. Also known to actively participate in the Lin Kuei.
- Trademark: Freezing the opponents before kicking their ass.
